About Us

Wallands Community Primary School is located in Lewes, East Sussex in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Our 6 acres of school grounds open out directly onto Landport Bottom, an important community asset. The area is part of the UNESCO designated Brighton & Lewes Biosphere and a recognised site of Special Scientific Interest dating back to the early Bronze Age.

Wallands is commited to taking advantage of our unique setting not only to offer a broader learning experience for all our pupils,  but to ensure that we develop our natural habitat to compliment and support the biodiversity of the National Park.

Our Outdoor Learning Project is a whole school initiative and a Strategic Priority for the Governing Body as outlined in Walland's School Strategy.

Wallands have a long term 'masterplan' to develop outdoor learning. The 'Key Info' box outlines our vision, how we will deliver it, how we use our grounds now for learning, for outdoor performances and for sport.

Our blog keeps you up to date with how the project is going.
